Charles Schwab will build a $230
million campus at RidgeGate in Lone Tree
to house its 2,000 employees in the
Metro Denver area, it announced on Jan.
16. The company shared plans in Dec.
2012 to add 400 additional employees
at its new campus by 2017.
Fidelity Investments announced on Jan. 14
that it will establish a new regional U.S. site
in Metro Denver with the opening of a
customer contact center that will have the
capacity to employ as many as 500
people. Fidelity has leased 100,000
square feet in the Fiddler’s Green Office
Center in Greenwood Village and is in the
process of outfitting the space.
Redwood Trust, Inc., a real estate
investment trust, announced on Jan. 11,
that it will locate a new financial services
operations center in Douglas County. The
company will receive tax credits from
Colorado’s Job Growth Incentive Tax
Credit for the creation of 552 new jobs
over five years.
Advanced Circuits, Inc., a circuit-board
printing company, nearly doubled the size
of its Aurora headquarters and plans to
add as many as 50 jobs there. The 274-
employee company opened a 52,000-
square-foot expansion Jan. 10. The
company has invested $7 million in
upgrading its printing and assembly
capabilities there over the past year.
Berken Energy has relocated its
headquarters from Roswell, N.M., to Fort
Collins and plans to hire 50 employees
this year, the company announced on
Jan. 9. Established in 2007, Berken
makes thermovoltaic technology, which
involves generating electricity with
semiconductor devices that capture heat.
The company manufactures its technology
near Carson City, Nev.
Visa Inc. announced on Jan. 8 that it will
significantly expand its existing Global
Technology Center in Douglas County,
leasing 66,000 square feet with a $9
million capital investment. The company
anticipates adding more than 400 new
jobs over the next five years at the site. The

Commission approved up to $5.7 million
in job-creation tax credits for the company.
Steven Roberts Original Desserts
purchased a 386,000-square-foot
distribution center in Aurora in January, where
it will consolidate its bakeries, warehouse,
and corporate headquarters in one location.
The company anticipates adding 800 jobs
at the site in the next three years.
Urban Lending Solutions announced in
January that it will hire 100 staff at its
locations in Broomfield and Littleton. The
