Aurora Public Schools in Arapahoe
County serves more than 37,000 students
in 58 schools, including two preschools, 28
elementary schools, five K- 8 schools, one
K- 9 school, six middle schools, one academy
for grades 6-12, four comprehensive high
schools, three pilot schools, one vocational/
technical college, one gifted and talented
K- 8 school, and six charter schools. It is
one of the Denver area’s largest and most
diverse school districts, with students from
more than 90 countries who speak more
than 100 languages. The district has inno-
vative plans that include partnering with
economic development, higher education,
industry and workforce development to offer
academic and career pathways in Arts and
Communication; Business; Health Sciences
and Science; Technology; Engineering; and
Math at 18 schools.

The Bennett School District serves residents within a 289-square-mile area in
the central portions of Adams and Arapahoe counties east of Denver. Bennett and
Watkins are the main communities served
by the district. The district is relatively
small, and serves about 1, 100 students
at two elementary schools, one middle
school and one high school. A wide range
of academic programs, including vocational programs, can be found at Bennett
High School.
Boulder Valley School District

Located in the foothills of the Rocky
Mountains, Boulder Valley School
District (BVSD) stretches from the peaks
of the Continental Divide to the suburbs
of Denver. The district serves Boulder,
Gold Hill, Jamestown, Lafayette, Louis-
ville, Nederland, Superior, Ward, and
parts of Broomfield and Erie, covering
more than 500 square miles and serving
about 30,000 students in 56 schools. Its
academic excellence puts the district
among the top three of Colorado’s large
Front Range school districts, as measured
by state and national academic rankings.
Each year, BVSD’s graduates are awarded
millions of dollars in scholarships and
score well above the state and national
averages on the ACT and SAT college
entrance exams.
Brighton School District 27J

The Brighton School District 27J serves
nearly 17,000 students from the cities of
Brighton, Commerce City and Thornton
as well as portions of unincorporated
portions of Adams, Broomfield and
Weld counties. The district’s 24 schools
include 15 elementary, four middle, and
Centennial Academy of Fine Arts.
